The game is played mainly from a top-down perspective as you pilot a Digi-Beetle through multi-floor digital dungeons. Progress involves navigating traps and terrain, managing movement, and completing mission objectives. Battles are turn-based, usually with a team of three Digimon. Enemies can be weakened and then captured with specialized devices. Character growth revolves around levels, techniques, attribute matchups, and DNA Digivolution, which changes evolution routes and long-term potential. As the story advances, players gain access to stronger vehicle parts, new mission zones, and tougher dungeons.

Early on, focus on capturing Digimon with flexible evolution and degeneration paths rather than only chasing immediate power. Before entering a dungeon, make sure your Digi-Beetle durability, recovery items, and escape options are adequate, since movement limits and terrain penalties matter a lot. In battle, check enemy attributes and techniques, then focus damage to reduce incoming pressure. Before attempting DNA Digivolution, train components to solid levels to improve the resulting Digimon's long-term growth. If a new area feels too difficult, farm lower floors for parts, experience, and better capture targets before pushing the story.
