Contra

The game uses side-scrolling stages where players move, jump, and fire in multiple directions while pushing through waves of soldiers, turrets, and alien creatures. Weapon pods grant different firepower upgrades, changing the pace and reach of combat. Stages mix standard platform shooting, vehicle-like assault sections, and boss fights with distinct attack patterns. Getting hit usually costs a life, and the game continues from checkpoints or stage restarts depending on progression.

Keep high-value weapons like Spread Shot whenever possible, and clear nearby threats before grabbing upgrades. Stay mobile, because standing still makes you easy prey for crossfire and ambushes. Learn boss patterns and attack during safe windows rather than forcing damage. In co-op, coordinate lanes so both players do not crowd the same space.

• Weapon pods replace your current gun, so learn the strengths of each upgrade.
• Progress often depends on advancing while clearing enemies, not just surviving in place.
• Middle distance is usually the safest range for boss encounters.
