Transformers: Mystery of Convoy

Mystery of Convoy is a left-to-right, single-player action game built from consecutive scrolling stages. Ultra Magnus runs, jumps, fires forward, and changes between robot and vehicle forms. Robot form is suited to jumping and combat, while vehicle form changes movement and collision behavior. The objective is to cross each stage, avoid or destroy Decepticon enemies, and reach a boss encounter. Falling, colliding with hazards, or taking repeated hits costs lives, and the game provides little room for recovery. Progress depends on learning enemy placements, reacting to fast projectiles, and using transformation at the correct points rather than on character development or equipment upgrades.

The primary playable Autobot. He investigates Convoy’s disappearance and fights through the Decepticon-controlled stages.

The missing Autobot leader, known as Optimus Prime in English-language Transformers releases. His disappearance provides the game’s central premise.

Treat the first moments of each stage as a memorization exercise, because enemies and projectiles can appear with very little warning. Keep Ultra Magnus moving, fire repeatedly while approaching screen edges, and avoid jumping into enemies that are entering from above or below. Use vehicle form to handle sections where its movement is safer, then return to robot form before jumps or close combat. Preserve lives for boss approaches, learn the timing of each boss pattern, and do not assume that a familiar Transformers character will be harmless; the game’s collisions and enemy fire are unusually punishing.

Expect an immediate challenge and learn the opening enemy placements before attempting a full run.

Fire continuously while advancing, but watch for enemies that enter from the top or bottom of the screen.

Transform before a difficult jump only when the vehicle form gives a clear movement advantage.
