The Tick

The game uses a side-view scrolling format with single-player progression through discrete stages. You move, jump, attack, and use special actions to clear waves of enemies while advancing through the level. Combat focuses on close-range punches and crowd control, with minor platforming sections and occasional elevation changes in the stages. Each stage typically ends with a boss fight, and clearing the boss advances the story to the next area.

Use Tick’s range and crowd control to keep enemies from surrounding you. In group fights, stay near the edge of the screen and pick opponents off one by one instead of rushing into the middle. For bosses, watch for attack wind-ups, step in for a short combo, then back off safely. Treat platform sections carefully and avoid overcommitting to attacks when footing is tight.
