The Simpsons: Bart vs. the Space Mutants

Bart explores side-scrolling sections of Springfield while completing the current stage objective. The opening level requires Bart to spray-paint red objects, while later stages use different tasks involving hats, balloons, disguises, and other alien preparations. Bart can jump over hazards, interact with objects, and use limited items supplied during a stage. The five stages are divided into smaller areas with checkpoints and escalating hazards. Lives and ammunition are limited, so progression depends on learning enemy patterns, locating useful items, and completing objectives before time or resources run out.

Study each stage’s objective before spending items. In the first stage, search each area carefully for red objects and use spray paint only when the target is safely reachable. Move cautiously around Springfield’s pedestrians, enemies, and hazards. Save limited ammunition for targets that cannot be handled by jumping, and use checkpoints to learn the layout before attempting a fast completion.

Search the full screen before leaving an area; several objectives are placed away from the main route.

Do not waste limited projectiles on ordinary movement hazards when a jump can avoid them.
