Need for Speed: Undercover

The game mainly uses a top-down perspective with pseudo-3D track presentation. Players steer, accelerate, and brake through city routes and closed circuits in sprint races, lap events, pursuit missions, and escape objectives. Progression is event-based, with victories unlocking new cars, tracks, and further story content. Vehicles differ in top speed, acceleration, and handling, while traffic, shortcuts, and crash recovery all affect race performance.

Early on, learn braking points for each course type, since DS tracks can be narrow and wall hits cost a lot of speed. In pursuit events, do not drive at maximum speed at all times; a cleaner line with fewer crashes is usually better for escaping police. When new cars unlock, favor stable handling over raw top speed for technical routes. On city tracks, watch for split paths and shortcuts, as smart routing often matters more than aggressive overtakes.

• Avoid repeated crashes during police chases, or you can get boxed in and slowed down.
• A newer car is not always better; on short tracks, handling is often more valuable than speed.
