Mr. Driller 2

The game uses a side-on view of a vertically scrolling field. The objective is to drill downward to the required depth before the air gauge reaches zero, while avoiding falling blocks and managing the route through the field. Players move horizontally, drill adjacent blocks, collect air capsules, and use color connections to clear larger groups. Some modes emphasize fixed stages, while endless-style play increases the challenge through depth and limited resources. Progress depends on route planning, efficient block removal, and maintaining enough air to continue.

Ataru Hori

A playable driller associated with Susumu and featured as an alternative character.

Plan a safe route before drilling deeply. Clearing blocks directly below you can create a shaft, but it may also release unsupported blocks from above. Prioritize air capsules when the gauge is falling, and avoid spending time on low-value blocks when a safer route is available. Use connected blocks to trigger larger clears, but check the surrounding ceiling first so a chain reaction does not bury the character. Short, controlled moves are usually safer than rapid drilling. Learn the block patterns and preserve open space for retreat when the field becomes crowded.
