Joe & Mac

The game uses side-scrolling platform action. Players move, jump, attack, and pick up weapons and items while clearing enemies and navigating ledges, traps, and destructible obstacles. Joe and Mac can be played solo or in two-player mode, and combat centers on short-range and thrown weapons that must be managed carefully. Progress is stage-based, with each area ending in a boss or set-piece encounter.

Joe

One of the two caveman protagonists, equipped with primitive melee and throwing weapons.

Mac

Joe's partner in the rescue adventure, sharing the same core abilities and role.

Keep hold of ranged weapons whenever possible, especially against flying enemies and fast chargers. Learn the jump timing for pits and moving platforms before rushing forward. Against larger bosses, attack in short bursts and back off to avoid taking unnecessary damage. In co-op, split roles so one player handles enemies while the other advances carefully.

Tips and tricks

• Memorizing enemy spawn points makes stages much safer.
• Use jump attacks and thrown weapons together to clear groups quickly.
• Save stronger weapons for boss fights whenever you can.
