Jack Bros

Players control one of the Jack characters in a top-down maze, searching for exits, keys, and required items while fighting or avoiding enemies. Each stage mixes navigation, combat, and simple environmental hazards such as locked doors, traps, and route changes. Movement, attacks, character switching, and item use are the core actions, and progress depends on meeting the stage goal and reaching the exit before time or enemy pressure becomes overwhelming.

Learn each stage layout early, especially key locations, exits, and enemy spawn points. Clear enemies in open areas before entering narrow corridors, and avoid getting trapped at corners. Use the character that best fits the situation, since route handling and combat efficiency can vary by stage. Because the Virtual Boy display makes depth harder to judge, move cautiously when approaching edges or overlapping objects.
