B.O.B.

B.O.B. is viewed from the side. Each stage requires reaching the exit while moving across platforms, avoiding traps, defeating enemies, and collecting useful items. B.O.B. can jump, fire his currently selected weapon, and switch between weapons gathered during play. The stages use mechanical rooms, alien terrain, vertical sections, pits, moving platforms, and enemy ambushes. Progress depends on conserving ammunition and learning when to use specialized weapons or gadgets rather than firing continuously. Losing all health ends the attempt, so careful movement is important in later sections.

Use short jumps when approaching unfamiliar platforms because B.O.B.’s momentum can carry him into hazards. Save unusual weapons for dense enemy groups or dangerous passages instead of spending them on the first target. Explore the edges of platforms and rooms for weapon pickups, but do not rush into a new screen. Shoot destructible objects before crossing beneath them, and learn enemy attack patterns so that health is not lost during otherwise simple jumps.
