Play is viewed from the side. Halen moves through multi-room fortress interiors, jumps across platforms, avoids or shoots enemies, and searches for power items and the route to each fortress core. The objective is not simply to reach the right edge: exploration reveals supplies and the target that must be destroyed. The adventure is organized as a sequence of fortresses, with each one increasing the pressure through tighter layouts and more dangerous enemies. Halen's energy is a key resource; damage and hazards reduce it, while energy items and other pickups help him continue. Destroying a core advances the mission, so careful routing is usually more effective than rushing.

Halen
The player-controlled guardian who enters the Air Fortresses to stop the threat to the planet Farmel.
Strategy
Explore each room before committing to its most dangerous jump. Energy items are valuable, but taking unnecessary contact damage to reach one can leave Halen weaker for the next section. Clear enemies that block a landing or doorway, then keep moving instead of trading hits. Learn safe routes through repeated rooms, monitor the energy meter, and approach unfamiliar areas with enough space to retreat.

Tips
Treat energy as a route-planning resource: collect nearby energy items and avoid needless contact damage.
Explore side paths before moving on; supplies can make the next room safer.
Use short, controlled jumps near enemies and learn a room before committing to its most dangerous passage.
